Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was back in Washington, D.C., on Monday, joining the Center for American Progress Action Fund and Half in Ten to discuss a new report on the nation’s progress in cutting poverty.
The report says a better U.s. economy and long-term financial outlook depends on the investments by the nation in a variety of programs. It is calling for strong action by Congress during its lame-duck session.
